For over seventy five years Bureau of Analysed Samples Ltd (BAS) have been preparing British Chemical Samples, now known as BCS Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) for the metallurgical industries.

The Certified Reference Materials (CRM) have been prepared under rigorous laboratory conditions and are issued by Bureau of Analysed Samples Ltd. under the auspices of an Honorary Advisory Committee and a body of approximately 150 Co-operating Analysts representing Independent Laboratories and Manufacturers and Users of the materials concerned.

With an increasing focus on Quality Assurance programmes MBH has progressively improved its certification programme. The programme now utilises a panel of analysts, from both within the United Kingdom and internationally, most of whom carry UKAS or its equivalent National Laboratory Accreditation.
